The story of Soil Baker begins at the intersection of food and design - Hye Rin Yang, 
    the founder of Soilbaker, studied product design at Parsons and worked at the renowned Eleven Madison Park; 
    later, she studied at the Institute of Culinary Education.
     As such, we always think about the balance between culinary and design, and how they ought to serve one another.
    We design ceramics with consideration for practicability and aesthetics, and above all, the quality that remains the same even after long period of use. 
    Ceramics are fired using traditional techniquesupon the age-old craftsmanship of Yeoju, South Korea where ceramics have been made for over a thousand years. 
    Human hands are involed in every step in our production, each piece is hand-finished, and as such, one-of-a-kind and imperfect.
